The Digital Alps Conference is a major event of the Macro regional strategy for the Alpine area EUSALP.
The Digital Alps Conference is the main event of the Action Group 5 where to discuss main relevant topics, present projects results and involve political representative from the Eusalp territories.
The aim is to bring together all initiatives and projects dealing with digitalization in the Alps and to
unleash the potentials of digitalization. The last edition of Digital Alps Conference was held in May 2022 in Trieste and
brought together more than 100 participants from all over Europe.

The Digital Alps Conference is an event organized by Action Group 5 (AG5) of EUSALP every year in a different Alpine region. This will allow to get in touch with more key stakeholders and to increase the visibility. In the year 2023, the Conference will focus on the themes of Smart Communities, data and artificial intelligence, remote working and digital skills and energy transition supported by digitalisation.

The 2023 DAC edition
The Digital Alps Conference 2023 is an EUSALP official event and this year it’s hosted by the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta.
The DAC 2023 is organized with the Alpine Convention and other relevant actors of EUSALP, focusing on the themes of Smart Communities, data and artificial intelligence, remote working and digital skills and energy transition supported by digitalisation.
The aims of the third edition of the Digital Alps Conference are to:
- bring the topic of digitalization to the forefront of policy making;
- strengthen the cooperation between urban and rural areas thanks to the potentials of digitalization;
- discuss how to unleash the potentials of digitalization for education and for training in specific sectors;
- analyse the impact of the digitalization in the labour market;
- identify common objectives and activities to deal with Open Data and Artificial Intelligence in the Alpine area;
- provide an update of the work on Smart communities and the Alpine network of Smart villages and Smart Regions SMART ALPS;
- anticipate the future digital trends that are relevant for the Alpine area;
- bring together key stakeholders and networks in the alpine area dealing with digitalization;
- present the diverse activities of EUSALP

In the afternoon, there is the possibility to have a guided tour on Museo di Scienze Naturali Efisio Noussan – Castello di Saint-Pierre, one of the most fascinating historical places in the Aosta Valley, enriched by the use of digital technology (only for registered participants of the DAC)
Logistical aspects
The Digital Alps Conference is a public event. Participation is free of charge.
Registration is required.
The Digital Alps Conference 2023 will be held at Skyway Mont Blanc, a cable car at 2000 metres altitude with the possibility of climbing up to the 3500 metres of Punta Hellbronner for the photo opportunity. Appropriate clothing is therefore recommended.
To facilitate participation, shuttles will be provided from Milan Malpensa airport and Turin train station to Courmayeur, the event venue.
The second day of Conference will be held in English and Italian with translation services provided.
